Center Updates

HELC Families-

I am thrilled to embark upon another year of learning and discovery here at Harris Early Learning Center for the 2023-2024 academic school year. I am continually humbled to join alongside such incredible students, families, educators, and staff as we continue to cultivate an enriching environment for education and care at HELC. We are honored to be entrusted with your children each day.

For those that have been with us before, you know what a unique community HELC is. Comprised of diverse learners, families, and educators in collaboration with our community and corporate partners, together we have crafted a special space for children to grow and thrive.

In my tenure as executive director at HELC, we have certainly endured some trying times as we have worked to navigate staffing shortages and the new normal in a post-pandemic world. While my primary role is to administer and oversee the pedagogical and curricular framework of our center, you may see me wear many hats around the building. Whether it is covering classrooms, writing grant proposals, or even attempting to fix a toilet on occasion, it has been my absolute joy to pour into this wonderful institution alongside such dedicated staff and educators.

I genuinely look forward to this year as we continue to construct and shape this community. HELC’s primary goal is to provide high-quality education and care for your students. I am so very thankful to our incredible educators who are the lifeblood of HELC. It is their diligence and intentionality that enables our students to be successful. I am also appreciative to our community of families that support HELC. We would not be the center that we are without your support.

Happy learning this year,

Dr. Mariah Weber
